Hi, I’m Amber.

I considered making this section my vanity wall, and filling it with my degrees and certifications, my qualifications and experience. Because I worked hard to achieve all of those goals and I’m actually really proud of me! Besides that, they’re appropriate to place here on a website which I’ve had the audacity to create in my own name. I’ve gone this far with the hubris, why not go all the way?

But if I’m going to introduce myself to you in this section, I want to show up with as much of my true self as possible.

I’m a middle-aged mom of seven, faithfully married to the same man for 25 years and counting. I’m an odd mix of creative/studious and mystical/intellectual. You’ll find that mixture well-represented here (you’ve been warned!). I’ve lived a lot of life — well acquainted with joy and suffering. I’m an amateur chef, though some might call me a culinary wizard (again with the hubris!). I love to take pictures and write my heart out because I’m deeply committed to truth and beauty. I believe in wonder, imagination, and that God’s self-communicated being is love. I live and move and have my being from this rock-solid belief in the belovedness of all humankind. My life is animated by seeing God’s activity and presence in the world, however and wherever it manifests.

My favorite movie of all time is Wizard of Oz, I can put down some Mexican food, I read a book a week, and I’m a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fanatic (come at me!).

I’m so glad you’re here. I hope you’ll stick around and take a long, loving look at the real with me. There’s really nothing quite like finding God’s gold together.

I write and speak about God's gold, with a curious and grateful heart. I walk beside others on their spiritual journeys, and help them find their own God-stories along the way.

I'd love for you to come dig around with me.

You'll find links to my blog, podcast and published articles, all of which dig for the gold that can always be found in both our joys and our sorrows.

If you’re looking to go deeper with God, to discern God’s guidance, or to find a spiritual companion for this leg of your own journey, check out my spiritual direction and courses pages, where you’ll find spiritual refreshment and encouragement.

My prayer is that you'll find a little something here to remind you of who you are, where you've come from, and all the gold that's been deposited in you.
